Ebonyi State Governor Chief Nwaeze Umahi said he is still considering wether or not to lift the Ban on Motorcycles otherwise known as Okada in the State.
Recall that Umahi had few weeks ago ban totally operations of Okada in the entire State.
But a Statement on Friday by Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji.
(Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, and Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring), the Governor said the ban might be lifted on the 1st Day of May 2020.
”He further appeals to all Okada riders and motorcycle owners to exercise more patience as he is re-evaluating the situation of the current ban on Motorcycles. He believes that if we sustain our current efforts and we do not record any pandemic case by 1st of May, the State Government shall be lifting ban on the use of motorcycles and Okada riding in Ebonyi State, but shall exclude lifting of ban at all our borders within a distance of 300 meters radius”
”He believes this measure will definitely reduce the hardship being experienced by motorcycle owners and Okada riders in the State”
