If what Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state said on Monday is anything to go by, President Muhammadu Buhari has picked a side in the ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress in the state.
According to the Governor who is seeking re-election, President Buhari has assured him of his support for his re-election bid.
Obaseki made the statement on Monday, June 1, when he visited the president to present his form seeking re-election on the platform of the APC.
The governor said he is confident that he will win the APC primary and the governorship election because his administration has a connection with the people adding that President Buhari has assured him of his support.
Obaseki also blamed the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, for the problems in Edo state.
He said while people in Edo state were in support of his second term bid, forces in Abuja were opposed to his re-election.
