UMUAHIA — A socio-political youth group from southeast and south-south, the Indigenous Youth Forum (IYF), has declared Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen as a terrorist group.
The group which accused the federal government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari of sponsoring the killer herdsmen, stated that the activities of Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen are henceforth banned in South-East and South-South.
“Henceforth, any Fulani herdsman captured in the south-east and south-south region is a terrorist and will be treated as such,” the group said in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Bariledum Joseph.
READ FULL PRESS STATEMENT:
Following the refusal of the federal government of Nigeria to proscribe Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen a terrorist group despite the terrorism and the killings perpetrated by the group, we, the Indigenous Youth Forum (IYF), have deemed it necessary to state the following:
1. That the federal government of Nigeria headed by President Muhammadu Buhari is the sponsor of Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen.
2. That the massacre perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen are state-sponsored terrorism against the defenseless Christians of Nigeria and some Hausa communities in the North.
On that note; we hereby ban all activities of Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen in the South-East and South-South. Henceforth, any Fulani herdsman captured in the south-east and south-south region is a terrorist and will be treated as such.
Fulani herdsmen who are still in our region are advised to leave before June 30, 2020.
Having learned that most of the weapons used for the attacks are stockpiled in the mosques, we have placed all the mosques in the South-East and the South-South under 24-hour surveillance and any mosque found guilty must be burned to ashes, and those which are found therein be treated like terrorists.
We will no longer fold our hands and watch these terrorists terrorize and massacre our people.
