The women wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Obioakpor Area 3 in Igweocha, Rivers State, have reiterated their support for the leader of the IPOB – Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and described the claim that they are not Biafrans, as fallacy.

In an interactive session with Family Writers Press International on Friday, August 21, 2020, the women who spoke about ‘Biafra and the geographical area known as the South-South and Niger Delta’ said that it is a mere political expression and a tool used by the Nigerian government to divide Biafrans.

They stated that they are all Biafrans and can no longer be divided or turned against their Igbo brothers and sisters.

Speaking during an interview, Evangelist Favour Esther, who is the Obioakpor Women Leader and also the Rivers West Senatorial Women Leader, said: “They were dividing us in Biafraland, and telling us that the Igbo people are our problem and our enemy, but today we have realised that it is false.

“They divided and put enmity between us and our brothers because of the oil in our land. We the Obioakpor women now know that we are Biafrans, we are one and we want Biafra,” she added.

On her part, Ms. Ogechukwu Agu, the IPOB Obioakpor Area 3 women financial secretary, described those clamouring and saying that the Igbo presidency is the solution to the persecution of Biafrans in Nigeria, as the “biggest fools”.

“Igbo presidency will not work. We don’t need it, all we need is Biafra. They should take their presidency and give us Biafra because that is all we want,” she said.

Other women who also spoke during the interactive session expressed their strong belief that IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu will restore Biafra’s sovereignty.
