The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said it is not possible for a church to be richer than a government in control of a nation’s treasury. He therefore, questioned the Nigerian government’s inability to effectively provide palliatives for every citizen despite the enormous resources at its disposal.
He said the logical conclusion is that the Nigerian government is corrupt and lacks sense of accountability.
Unlike the Nigerian government however, Adeboye disclosed that his church spent between N250m and N400m monthly on corporate social responsibility.
The Cleric who made the statement at the monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, also spoke on the hike in fuel and electricity prices, saying it is a sign that the government has no clue what its citizens are passing through.
