The tension arising from the length and breadth of Nigeria has began to affect the economy in the most unimaginable ways possible. Not only has this transgressed to downplay the economy as prices of fuel continues to hike as a result of scarcity, it is impacting negatively on the sociocultural and political relation of the diversed nation.

Few days after the north bans transportation of foodstuffs to the south, some leaders of the Yoruba people met to discuss the way forward. In attendance were Chief Gani Adam, Ayo Adebanjo of the OPC and Afenifere respectively. Also in attendance was Sunday Igboho.

In that meeting, they all agreed to boycott cow and cow meats as a form of retaliation. “Anything But Cow Day” The launching said to be kicking off on Friday, 5th March 2021.

However, the north have taken a position, saying that; for the south west that loves cows skin

(Nkomo). This being a very popular and much consumed commodity, the south west could as well find cow skin else where.
