The group asks the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to allow the Igbo community to have Biafra in order for peace to reign in the country.

This was conveyed in a statement by Abdul-Azeez Sulaiman, the spokesperson for the group who also termed the tweet by the president referencing the civil war as a sign of accepting failure.

He further maintained that the activities of the youths who are the fur front of the agitation for the breakaway of Biafra following encouragement by some of their political, cultural and religious leaders has made the country’s unity negotiable

Having said that, the group, however, said they were looking forward to how the president will tackle the issue of insurgency in Nigeria henceforth, most importantly the threat the IPOB movement posed on the country’s peace.
