As Abia State Government marks the 30th anniversary of the state, the Peoples Democratic has felicitated with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the founding fathers of the state and the Abia people on the auspicious anniversary.
Abia was created under the military administration of Retired Major General Ibrahim Badamosi Babaginda on August 27, 1991.
The Abia PDP, in a goodwill message issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon Fabian Nwankwo, marking the commemoration of the event, posited that the collective achievements of Ikpeazu in the past six years, the legacies of the founding fathers and positive supports of Patriotic Abians have made the occasion worth celebrating.
The party noted with enthusiasm that the fly-over construction at Osisiomangwa junction, the rating of Abia State as the House of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises destination, which has placed of Abia State as one of the few most safest and peaceful states in the federation apart from the massive roads construction and attraction of the World Bank to embark on multiple million dollars’ project among other tangible projects in the state by the people’s oriented leadership of the governor.
The State leadership of the PDP said the developmental strides of Governor Ikpeazu has placed him at centre of the vision of the founding fathers of Abia State.
The party called on members of the party and the entire residents of the state to sustain their loyalty and pray for God to enable the Abia Chief Executive perform greater in the remaining period of his administration.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information in Abia State, Chief John Okiyi Kalu has stated that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has changed the narrative of governance of the state especially in the area of infrastructure and entrepreneurship.
The Commissioner also said a greater Abia has been achieved under the Ikpeazu-led government, assuring that there are more to come in every aspect of governance of the state.
He stated that the present administration has been able to ensure peace adding that the state has witnessed inflow of local and foreign business investments.
