The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has been described as a terrorist organization operating in Nigeria.
Chuks Ibegbu, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, said the Fulani group is a terrorist organization because it’s fighting against enacted laws.
He made the remark while urging the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to arrest leaders of the group.
Ibegbu was reacting to the decision of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore not to obey the ban on open grazing in the Southern part of the country.
Southern governors had in June set September 1 as deadline for open grazing in their region.
But, the National Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore, Saleh Alhassan, had said members of the group would not recognise any anti-open grazing policy in the country.
Reacting, Ibegbu, while speaking with DAILY POST, wondered if the Fulani socio-cultural group were above the law in Nigeria.
According to Ibegbu: “Is Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore a law onto themselves? They are not law onto themselves. We are running a federation and the governors of the states have made law and this group is trying to go against the law? What right do they have to question the authority of the state? Are they hoodlums?
“I think this group is a terrorist group. I’m declaring Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore a terrorist group because they are fighting against the law of the land.
“A group of states came together to enact a law and an organisation not known by the law is questioning their decision in a federation? I call on the Inspector General of Police to arrest their leaders for trying to cause chaos and threatening the peace of the nation. Their leaders should be arrested, prosecuted and I also declare them a terrorist organization.
“I’m warning them, they should not think that other parts of Nigeria are fools; we want peace and tranquility in this nation but not that of the grave yard.
“We are not weaklings, nobody can threaten the peaceful coexistence of the people, they can’t threaten the South, just like we don’t want to threaten any part of Nigeria.
“Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore should know that cattle rearing is a private business, it’s just like mechanic, fishermen; it’s a private business and government should not have a hand in all those things. They should get their money, purchase lands and do their ranching.
“In the 21st century, they can’t be moving cows about, the world is no longer at that stage.”
